The goalkeeper sprints from the goal to stop the opponent’s attacker but succeeds only in clearing the ball away from the field of play over the touch line. Because of his speed, the goalkeeper’s momentum carries him off the field. The attacker exploits the situation by taking a throw-in quickly and correctly with the goalkeeper still off the field, and ends up with a goal being scored.
