SOCCER BOARD MEETING 9-6-2007

RAYS soccer board met at the Rossville library on 9-6-2007 with the following members present: John Isenberg, Jeff Hughes, Jeff Quinton, Joel Wilson, Allison Holden, Kirk Saylor, and Randy Long.

FINANCE: Current balance is around $10,000. Beat the Keeper brought in $130. Need to set up earlier next year (10am) Last year’s left over prizes were used. One game ball was won.

COACHES: no report

FACILITIES: Nets are purchased. U8 fields are lined. Jeff switched the U8 and U10 fields. Eddie Yoder will give us a quote for a security system for the concession stand. An attempt will be made to keep part of merchandise in Jeff’s home to minimize loss in case of theft. Jeff and Kirk need to discuss a concession schedule and a list explaining duties and procedures of running the concession stand. Players will continue to get a free drink and snack after each game as was voted on in previous meeting. Jeff lowered prices from last year.

REFEREES: Jeff reports that the high school goals need to be anchored for safety. Joel will remedy. The field needs to be lined before the next high school game. Jeff needs all game schedules so he can secure refs (from Kirk or the coordinators).

REC: Games have begun. We will attempt to schedule additional games for the 2 U17 teams: suggestions are Remington, Carroll, our u12 travel team. It was recommended that the older kids get dog tags instead of a trophy.

Jeff Hughes is concerned about the many changes that have taken place in the rec league:

Kirk is planning a feedback survey at the end of the season.

We need to establish goals. Need a 5-year plan. Joel presented an outline for changes and goals. Need to discuss further.
