Rossville

The Rossville U16 Girls wrapped up their season this past weekend on a winning note, but not before suffering a loss on Saturday. The Fusion made the trip to Rossville on Saturday and left with a 3-1 win. The Hornets were plagued by a lackluster performance as they were out hustled and beaten to every ball. Their play negated an early goal by Brie Trillingham that had given Rossville a 1-0 lead. The Fusion pushed past 3 goals in the second half for the victory.\r\n On Sunday the Lady Hornets came out with a vengeance against the LSC Wizards in Lawrence. The entire team awoke from Saturday\'s slumber and scored the first goal on a B. Trillingham penalty kick. That kick was set up when Alyssa Remaly was fouled hard in the box.
After the score the Hornet defense took over. On two separate plays with the Keeper out of the goal Paige Pennington came out of nowhere to deflect the ball away. The entire team played with a passion attacking the ball and keeping the LSC Wizards off balance. Late in the second half Corina Trillingham took a pass from Shiloh Barrett and scored her first goal of the season to put the Hornets up by 2. That was the way it would end as Rossville pulled off the shutout victory 2-0.
The Hornets finished the season with a 4-5-1 record.
