Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Travel Soccer. Yes, where else can you enjoy a casual Saturday and Sunday drive at the break of dawn to far away and strange places that are on no known maps, just to play a little soccer. Our Spring Travel season is underway and we have 5 teams representing our area, 4 under the Rossville name and one using the Carroll moniker.
You may ask how in the heck Carroll got involved. It was a joint decision by the Carroll and Rossville soccer boards to try as a one season experiment to join forces. This will enable more players to play, and at an appropriate level. Of course this being an experiment we have run into a few bumps in the road. We are working those out and will reevaluate our joint venture in a post season discussion.
I have had the pleasure of seeing most the teams in practice and can say that it should be an exciting season. For the first time we have an all girls team (in preparation for the fall high school varsity program) and those ladies are tough. I encourage you to check out the web site calendar, (rossvillesoccer.com), for game times and attend some of our home games.
If you don’t have a kid playing on a travel team this year contact me or any board member for information. Soccer is strange in that we have to begin planning for the Fall Travel Season before school lets out. So don’t delay we can always use more players.
